Use of 3D CAD Models in Architectural and Construction Industry
By Prahlad Parmar

Use of 3-dimensional (3D) Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software has become essential in most design professions, including engineering, architecture, construction and branches that deal with the built world - past, present or future. CAD 3D modeling is also frequently used in medicine, science and technology to explain and visualize physical phenomena. 3D models depict the geometry and various aspects of physical objects and are dynamically visualized with computer graphics. 3D CAD models are very complex and the storage formats are usually proprietary to a specific software product.

In architecture domain, 3D CAD software is popularly becoming the design tool of choice. There are many software vendors catering to the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry, especially AutoCAD, Revit and Microstation. 3D CAD models are increasingly used across all phases of building project life cycle management. The modern AEC industry has defined "Building Information Model" as a standard way to model building in 3D. BIM consists of 3D CAD model plus important properties of the model (e.g., attributes and materials) to facilitate better communication between various parties involved in the project and the future owners. From the 3D model many more detailed 2-dimensional (2D) drawings are produced for specific aspects of the building (floor plans, electrical, HVAC, etc).

There are also artistic renderings delivered to clients - photographs, photorealistic images and videos of the construction site - and ample email and document exchange between client, architects, contractors and other parties. While the 3D CAD models are of substantial importance, contextual files are often required to understand them correctly. For example, client presentations help clarify an architect's design goal as implemented by a model, so researchers looking at the 3D model need the context of the presentation to make sense of it.

2D drawings generated by tools like AutoCAD present many advantages since they are industry standards (DWG, DXF formats) and can be easily converted into other standard 2D formats such as PDF or JPG. For places in which 2D CAD is the best illustration of the object, standard formats and 3D CAD model strategies can reasonably be applied.

The Method of Watercolor Perspective is an Involved Process
By Tom Tripp

An architectural rendering is produced by going through a specific process in stages. The procedure of watercolor rendering is a carefully followed regimen. The purchaser is consulted at each stage. After step one, approval is required before moving on to step two. This precaution ensures satisfactory results for the buyer. It's a fine example of what good communication can do for any business transaction.

Architectural drawings are first emailed to the individual providing the watercolor rendering. He or she then determines the payment requires. When the price is agreed to, a contract is initiated.

The artist then makes a 3D computer model, which shows the building from a variety of angles. Next, the 3D computer model is emailed back to the purchaser. He picks out the view to be used. That view is then transferred to watercolor paper.

A preliminary pencil drawing is prepared on the watercolor paper and once again sent for approval. The customer approves it and returns it to the artist. The artist then creates the watercolor architectural rendering. That completes the artistic process.

It is then scanned and emailed to the customer for her or his final approval. Upon final approval and acceptance, the finished architectural watercolor rendering is carefully packaged and sent to the customer using one of the leading delivery services. The entire process can be done in as little as one week.

Who is the person creating these watercolor renderings? The typical artist is an architect with years, or decades of experience as a practicing architect. He has the ability to communicate perfectly with other architects. This is what qualifies him to produce architectural watercolor renderings. It is a unique and specialized talent.

Sometimes it takes more than a week to finish a watercolor rendering. The emails can take a little longer to approve before being returned for the next step to be done. It is the good communication that makes this intricate work turn out as well as it does. As you know, artistic process takes time in addition to talent. The creation of an architectural rendering is no different than a painting on canvas.

Residential Renderings - Increase Home Sales

With Affordable Architectural Illustrations
By Jon Andrson

Using residential renderings is a vital component of an effective residential marketing sales strategy. The use of quality 3D renderings gives your project a voice.

With all of the voices competing to attract potential customer's attention, you cannot afford to use a second rate presentation for your model homes.

Part of creating a companies image is the unity of its message. More specifically, we are talking about the visual image. Your architectural visualization source should work with you to develop an image that is specific to your company. This will help to identify your brand during advertising and marketing campaigns.

Through two decades of experience, we have found that it is necessary to have a unified image; especially during times when the market is down. Builders that create a distinct image with model home design and their company's visual image are on a solid footing. The right architectural renderings and advertising message will bring success. This is where their voice is heard through the chatter of their competition.

With the growth and exposure through internet marketing, residential renderings are a must. They are a core element involved in increasing consumer interest. In fact, internet marketing strategies provide some of the most cost effective methods of introducing your product lines to prospective consumers.

Regardless of the marketing strategy you implement, quality 3d renderings should be the anchor for delivering interested buyers to your product line.

Many times price is the barrier. Today, price is not a deterrent. The cost to complete a residential rendering today is less than it has been in the past. This is due to advancements in 3d rendering software. Unfortunately, even though the new technology yields better high quality architectural renderings, the human element is still the key factor. In fact, in our opinion, it is the human element that gives your architectural illustration that personal touch. A style that is unique to your company.

What is best is you don't have to go overseas to a country where the services are prepared by people who have never walked down the streets of an American residential subdivision. This is something that is almost impossible to communicate. Pictures alone don't give it justice.

How do you find a firm to complete your architectural renderings at an affordable price? When looking within our borders, it can be very difficult.

We have developed a systematic approach that reduces repetition and produces rapid results. This system has afforded us the opportunity to pass on the savings to our customers. With all of this in mind, residential renderings are more convenient and affordable than ever before.

AutoCAD Architectural Designs - Importance of CAD Designs
By Jenny Shield

Information for Architectural Design:

It is a sequence of making accurate designs for various phases with improved methodical technique. It is an important part to generate various building designs that satisfy all the purposes and plays a critical role in making of digitized format for rough and handmade sketches. It was done traditionally on paper in past time. In the present technical era, manual architectural designs are become old technique and due to that architects have developed various software like Auto CAD. The other important aspect for architect is to maintain complete view of all designs as per requirements. These architectural designs used for different purposes and specifications. Let us know more for cad designs that rapidly used for various building types.

Importance Computer Aided Design: CAD Design:

Usage of Computer Aided Design (CAD) is become more popular term to reduce the complexity attached with architectural projects. CAD designs always perform accurate outputs as it provides excellent communication between the entire people who is concern with building construction. Using CAD one can easily and effectively visualize future building on computer and know how the building will look after completion. It allows user to visualize all the building aspects from different angles. With CAD system, architects generate vital information for various purposes like:

• architectural plans
• elevations, sections
• windows and doors
• interior 3D rendering
• architectural related drawings
• Custom house plan designs
• Furniture designs
• Landscape designs

For outsourcing purpose it is also help to get maximum gain in your business. Many of the architectural firms offer low cost services for CAD designs with vast infrastructure and technical resources. It is used for mainly for interior setup and exterior setup.

One can easily get complete idea about interior decoration and exterior planning of parking, shades, tree arrangement and lighting arrangement. In the CAD Design 2D and 3D techniques have reduced much complexity and it helped architects to serve time bound services at lesser efforts.
